• Route, not just airline: A direct Heathrow–Jeddah flight typically adds £80–£150 per person over a one-stop route via a Gulf hub. That buys back roughly six hours of travel time each way, worth it for some, not for others.
• The calendar, more than anything else: The gap between a September departure and a December one can be several hundred pounds per person for an equivalent package, purely down to demand.

Get the Hotel's Actual Distance, in Metres, Before you Pay Anything

"Walking distance to the Haram" is doing a lot of work in some listings; it can mean 200 metres, or it can mean a bus ride. Ask for the hotel name and the distance specifically; we quote both upfront, and if a hotel substitution happens before departure, we'll tell you when it happens, not when you check in.

Ask Whether the Quoted Price is Genuinely Final

Visa fees, "transfer surcharges," and service fees added after the initial quote are common enough to be worth asking about directly: "Does this price include the visa, both hotels, flights and transfers, with nothing else to pay?" That should be a one-word answer.

Not knowing the Rituals isn't a Reason to Delay Booking

We hear this a lot from first-timers, a hesitation to commit because Ihram, Tawaf, Sa'i and Halq feel unfamiliar. Flag Elderly or Young Travellers when you Enquire, not After Booking

For children, it means connecting rooms and hotels that suit families rather than solo travellers, and sometimes a straightforward "this particular week isn't the right one for you.

Travelling as a Woman Without a Mahram

Saudi Arabia's rules no longer require a female mahram (male guardian) for Umrah, at any age. You can book as an individual or join one of our group departures if travelling with others appeals more than travelling solo. Plenty of our solo female clients choose the female-only Umrah packages simply for company, not because it's mandatory. Entry requirements are set by Saudi authorities and can be updated, so we'll confirm the current position with you specifically when you book, rather than rely on what was true last season.
